If you love Greek lore, you have probably heard of the webtoon Lore Olympus. And there are books being published now, so you don’t even have to read it online only!
Anyway, a group of people wanted to do a photoshoot with various Lore Olympus characters and I voted to be Hera. In this version all the gods and goddesses are different colors. Hera is yellow, Zeus is purple, Minthe is red, Persephone is pink, Hades is blue…etc. I experimented with body paint for the first time ever, made arm socks (basically tights that you turn into a crop top with gloves attached) and was glad editing work by our photographer could make my face and arms actually match. Without further ado, here’s some WIP shots and then the end results!
I’m sure there are more efficient ways to do arm socks, but making a cardboard cut out, hand sewing the basic shape, then machine sewing it seemed to work for me. Granted, the tights are still very fragile, but it’s easier than painting your whole arm. I also sewed the dress from a pattern with some small tweaks. No real progress pictures, though.
And here are the end results!
