One of the Secret Project books from the Year of Sanderson (2023) was Yumi and the Nightmare Painter. There’s a ramen shop owner who I thought would be fun and fairly easy to dress up as for the 2023 Dragonsteel convention. So I did!

Mostly I used a pink yukata that I got back in my college study abroad days in Japan, got a white white and styled it, put on very bright lipstick, and made the heaviest bowl of ramen I’ve ever felt. I used two part resin and toy bits from a kid’s ramen building game on Amazon. This thing has definite heft to it.

I’m always a little surprised when I rediscover how good (or bad) I look with very different colored hair than my own. I will update this with better pictures of her whenever I get some. But while people thought I was Yumi a few times, everyone loved it! And my ramen bowl was a huge hit. I even loaned it to another Design the next day, when I was dressed as Tress.
